Thank you for visiting Chez Darlene @ The Spinning Wheel. Our business started in 1986 with knitting instruction and cone yarns for new machine knitters. Over the years we released multiple books, patterns and design disks for the machine knitter. We are an ever changing design studio focusing on the needs of our clients through fibers, fashion and quilting. On the knitting side of the business we offer yarns, hand knitting accessories, books, and custom full fashion knits. Our trips to France inspire Provencal designs for the sewing side of our business with french and french inspired fabrics, Market Bags, Aprons, Home Accessories and other little gift items. I love the Provencal colors and the weight of the fabrics. Several years back I wanted to make a quilt in Provencal Blues and Yellows but I couldn’t find the fabrics I wanted. That was the spark that started my desire to use French and French Inspired Fabrics. Yes, we even got inspired enough to grow some of our own lavender. Some samples of some of our ready made gift items are shown on this site. Our site is not all inclusive just offers an idea of a few things we have available along with our books. Our services include individual & group knitting instruction, sewing instruction and custom made items as commissioned. Thanks again for visiting.
